Rockwood Summit's girls volleyball team swept Gateway with Soldan International Studies 25-3, 25-7, 25-1 in the Class 4 District 2 tournament on Tuesday, Oct. 20.

The Falcons, now 22-9-1 on the season, gave up just 11 total points across three sets. Gateway entered the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) district tournament at 3-14, according to MSHSAA schedule records.

RSHS Falcon Sports posted the result on X, confirming Summit advances to the district semifinal.

That semifinal is set for Saturday, Oct. 24, at 11 a.m. at Ursuline Academy. The Falcons will face Nerinx Hall, which won its own district opener Tuesday by beating Webster Groves 3-2, according to Nerinx Hall's MSHSAA schedule. Nerinx Hall carries a 17-14 record into the matchup.

Summit built its 21-win season with a strong stretch through September and October, sweeping the Rolla Invitational on Oct. 3 with six straight wins and picking up conference victories over Marquette, Parkway Central and Parkway West along the way. The Falcons also beat Mehlville 3-0 on Oct. 7 and topped Parkway Central 3-1 on Oct. 13 before entering district play.

Nerinx Hall enters the semifinal after losing to Ursuline Academy 1-3 on Oct. 15 and falling to Lutheran St. Charles 2-3 on Oct. 5. The Markers won three of their final four regular-season matches, then beat Webster Groves in five sets to open districts.

Saturday's winner advances to the district championship, with the Class 4 state tournament scheduled to begin Oct. 31.
