A stretch of Wilson Avenue in Chesterfield will close Monday, Oct. 26, 2026, blocking through traffic between Todd Evan Trail and Walnut Hill Farm Drive. The closure is expected to last until mid-December.
Wilson Avenue has seen an earlier closure this year. A separate city announcement issued July 2 described a closure beginning July 6 between Todd Evan Trail and Wild Horse Creek Road that was anticipated to last until September.
The City of Chesterfield announced that drivers heading north on Wilson Avenue will have no direct access to Wild Horse Creek Road during the closure. The section of Wilson Avenue between Wild Horse Creek Road and Todd Evan Trail will reopen, but only for drivers needing to reach Todd Evan Trail. Wilson Avenue will remain closed south of that intersection.
Northbound drivers should use the temporary connection at Baxter Crossing Lane to reach Baxter Road and Wild Horse Creek Road. Drivers towing trailers or operating larger vehicles should avoid that connection because of tight turning radii and instead take southbound Wilson Avenue to Clarkson Road to Baxter Road.
Walnut Hill Farm subdivision residents will need to turn right from Walnut Hill Farm Drive onto Wilson Avenue, head south and use either the Baxter Crossing Lane connection or continue to Clarkson Road to reach Baxter Road and Wild Horse Creek Road.
The city described the mid-December reopening date as anticipated, not guaranteed.
