You don't have to be a Rockwood parent to have a say in how the district runs — and the district is counting on that.

Rockwood's 2026 Community Survey is open through Sunday, April 27, and it's open to everyone: students, staff, parents, and any community member in the district's footprint, which spans Chesterfield, Wildwood, Eureka, and surrounding areas. The survey is completely anonymous and covers leadership, academics, character education, and school culture.

The timing carries weight. Last November, voters narrowly rejected Proposition S, a property tax increase that would have generated $27 million a year for teacher raises, expanded healthcare benefits, and two additional school safety officers. The measure failed 51% to 49% — a margin of roughly 500 votes out of more than 22,000 cast, according to FOX 2. With that result still fresh, the annual survey is one of the clearest ways residents can signal their priorities to district leadership.

"With every decision we make, our overarching goal is to ensure all students have access to outstanding educational opportunities," Superintendent Dr. Curtis Cain has said in the district's annual survey announcement. "As educators and as a district, we cannot be successful and meet the needs of all students without input and support from our students, staff, families and community members."

Rockwood is St. Louis County's largest public school system, serving more than 22,000 students across 19 elementary schools, six middle schools, and four high schools — Eureka, Lafayette, Marquette, and Rockwood Summit — according to district school profiles.
