Chesterfield Council to Vote Monday on 13.6-Acre Lot Merger for PierTech Headquarters Near Airport
Chesterfield City Council will decide Monday, June 1, whether to merge eight industrial parcels near Spirit of St. Louis Airport into a single 13.61-acre site where PierTech Systems plans to occupy a new manufacturing and office headquarters.
Bill No. 3589 is scheduled for both first and second readings at the 7 p.m. meeting, meaning council could give final approval Monday night. The city's Planning Department recommends approval.
PierTech Systems, a helical pier manufacturer currently split between offices on Trade Center Boulevard in Chesterfield and a manufacturing plant in Weldon Spring, would move into a new 109,000-square-foot warehouse and office building at 18310 Wings Corporate Drive. The St. Louis Business Journal reported in October 2025 that the project carries a $23 million price tag and promises 60 new jobs, though the city agenda does not reference those figures.
The consolidated site sits south of Wings Corporate Drive and east of Buzz Westfall Drive in the Wings Corporate Estates industrial park. The Architectural Review Board approved the site plan 5-0 in October 2025, and the bill advanced through the Planning & Public Works Committee before reaching the full council. According to ARB minutes, the FAA granted approval for the project given its proximity to the airfield.
The building design features concrete tilt-up panels in a three-tone grey palette, a two-story office wing at the corner of Wings Corporate and Buzz Westfall drives, and a multi-level patio oriented toward the airport. The site plan calls for 98 trees, a bioretention area with native grasses along the southern boundary, and a gated loading area off Buzz Westfall Drive.
Mayor Dan Hurt presides over Monday's meeting. Planning & Public Works Committee Chair Lane Koch (Ward III) shepherded the bill through committee. The agenda review session begins at 6:15 p.m.; the full council meeting follows at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 690 Chesterfield Parkway West.
