Wildwood's Music on Main Lands at New Village Green for First Time
Wildwood's free summer concert series has a new home. Music on Main moved to the city's brand-new Village Green this year, marking the first time in the series' history that concerts are held on city-owned land.
Mayor Joe Garritano cut the ribbon on the 6-acre park before the season opener May 15, calling the move a milestone for the city in a Facebook post. The Village Green sits just west of City Hall in Town Center at 16860 Main Street, replacing the old grassy lot east of B&B Theatres where the series previously set up.
Three concerts remain on the schedule, all on third Fridays:
- June 19 — Honky Tonk Heroes, 6:45–9:15 p.m.
- July 17 — The Rockwood Boys, 6:45–9:15 p.m.
- August 21 — Real Rock Revival (Back-to-School Bash), 6:00–9:15 p.m.
The August finale starts early at 6 p.m. with opener That 80s Band, plus inflatables, games, and a "wear your school gear" theme.
All shows are free. Food trucks and local vendors sell food and drinks on-site. Blue Bell Ice Cream hands out free samples while supplies last, and the City Tent offers free water. Accessible parking is behind City Hall, closer to the event grounds. Nearby streets stay open during concerts. Pets are not permitted.
Griffin & the Gargoyles, a St. Louis cover band and Riverfront Times "best cover band" pick, kicked off the season May 15 with support from the Missouri Arts Council.
The city purchased the two 3-acre parcels in 2018 and completed Phase One construction in late 2025. The park will eventually house the Essen Log Cabin, an 1870s structure donated to the city after standing along Eatherton Road for more than 140 years.
