Rockwood Summit High School's girls tennis team won the Suburban Conference title during the fall 2026 season, wrapping up with what the team's school newspaper called an 8-9 record.

The Falcons' overall varsity record stood at 8-9, according to the Missouri State High School Activities Association, which includes a 3-5 loss to Washington in the Class 2 District 2 team tournament on Oct. 12. The Talon, Rockwood Summit's student newspaper, reported the record as 8-8, likely reflecting the regular season before districts.

Head coach Kevi Harwood told The Talon that players put in offseason work and kept improving throughout the fall.

"Some of the players went to clinics and took lessons before the season started," Harwood told The Talon. He said the team's growth showed on the court: "They all grew a lot by knowing where to put the ball and how to fix a problem they were having in the match."

Among the Falcons' wins were matches against University City, Pattonville, Affton, Parkway North, Mehlville, Hazelwood West and Oakville, according to the MSHSAA schedule. The team also lost to Festus, Parkway West, Parkway South, Lindbergh, Webster Groves, Marquette, Eureka and Lutheran South during the regular season.

Senior captain Alyssa Bosek told The Talon that the team’s success helped ease the bittersweet end to her high school career.

"It was my last season, so it was a little sad but I'm glad that we had a good season," Bosek told The Talon. "I just wanted the [team] to have fun with it, and just enjoy the couple of months we had."

Harwood said the growth shouldn't stop when the season does. Players, he told The Talon, "should be going to clinics and taking lessons all year long."
