A new coffee and dessert bar with late-night weekend hours is coming to the Kehrs Mill Road corridor in Ballwin, after the Board of Aldermen voted 8-0 on April 13 to grant owner Panayiotis Stavrianos a special use exception for outdoor seating at 910 Kehrs Mill Road, Suite 102.

Pana Coffee and Dessert Bar will join The Barn at Lucerne in the commercial strip along Kehrs Mill. Stavrianos, a Ballwin resident, plans to operate seven days a week, with extended Friday and Saturday hours until 11:30 p.m.

Proposed hours: Sunday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Thursday 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday 7 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.

During the meeting, Alderman Janet Rodriguez Judd (Ward 1) asked whether the shop would have signage visible from Kehrs Mill Road. Stavrianos confirmed signs would face both directions, with a permit already in the works following the Planning & Zoning Commission's April 6 approval.

Stavrianos brings food-industry experience to the venture. He previously served as chief people officer at Park Avenue Coffee and currently works in management at The Napoli Group, according to his professional profile.

The approval, formalized as Ordinance No. 26-11, includes a lighting condition requiring that all sign illumination not cast light onto adjacent properties or rights-of-way. Alderman Frank Fleming (Ward 3) moved the bill; Alderman Michael Finley seconded.

No opening date has been announced. Pana Coffee's website, panastl.com, is live and selling branded merchandise.
