A waterslide tube flip at the Eureka theme park last summer left one rider with multiple spinal fractures and a five-day hospital stay — and now all three people aboard have filed suit against the park.

Addyson Aaron, 21, of Dexter, Mckenzie Angel, 21, of Holcomb, and Hayden Jarrell, 20, of Dexter, filed their lawsuit April 17 in the 21st Circuit Court of St. Louis County. The three are seeking damages in excess of $25,000 each — the minimum required to file in circuit court — plus costs, and all have requested a jury trial. The park, formerly Six Flags St. Louis, now operates as Mid-America Parks under the Enchanted Parks brand.

What riders say happened

The incident occurred Aug. 23, 2025, on the Typhoon Twister, a multi-person raft waterslide inside Hurricane Harbor at the Eureka park.

According to the lawsuit, as reported by KSDK and FOX 2, a park employee weighed the three riders, loaded them onto a multi-person inflatable tube, and pushed the tube down the slide. During the ride, the tube flipped, throwing all three from their positions.

All three were transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis.

Aaron's injuries were the most severe: avulsion fractures to her L1 vertebra and a compression fracture of her T11 vertebra, according to the lawsuit as reported by KSDK. She required a five-day hospital stay followed by in-home physical and occupational therapy. Angel sustained a concussion, back and neck stiffness, and a left shoulder injury. Jarrell suffered a concussion and amnesia from head impact.

What the lawsuit alleges

The suit accuses the park of failing to properly maintain the Typhoon Twister slide, failing to inspect it for hazards, and failing to properly train employees, according to FOX 2 reporting.

The plaintiffs are represented by attorney Jaclyn A. Kinkade of Finney Injury Law. The park has not commented on the lawsuit and is represented by CSC Lawyers Incorporating Service out of Jefferson City.

Ride status and park schedule

The Typhoon Twister — a raft slide introduced in 2018 that features a 125-foot whirlpool bowl — remains listed as an active attraction on the park's official website as of Thursday, April 24. Mid-America Parks opens for the 2026 season on Friday, April 25, but Hurricane Harbor's water park does not open until May 23.
