Parkway swimmers are getting new timing technology — and the district's Community Education program is helping foot the bill.

The Parkway C-2 Board of Education approved the purchase of two Colorado Time Systems at its April 25 workshop, a combined investment of nearly $69,350 for new pool timing equipment. The district's athletics department will pay $34,674 for one system out of its existing budget. Community Education is picking up the tab for a second identical unit so the Parkway swim club, which uses more than one district pool, can host meets at multiple locations at the same time.

Athletics Director Corey Johnson told the board in a memo to Superintendent Dr. Melissa Schneider that his department received three quotes and the Colorado Time System came in as the lowest-priced option — and the one Parkway swim coaches preferred. The second system's cost pushed the total past the threshold requiring board approval, which is why the purchase landed on the April 25 agenda.

Colorado Time Systems, founded in 1972, serves as the official timing system for the College Swimming Coaches Association of America, USA Diving, and USA Water Polo.

Hudl deal adds video tools across high school athletics

At the same meeting, the board approved a three-year contract with Hudl, the video and performance analytics platform, at $60,000 per year through August 2029 — a $180,000 deal covering Parkway's high school athletic programs. Funding will come from the FY27 Sports Marketing budget and high school athletic accounts, according to Johnson's memo.

Hudl gives coaches and athletes access to game film breakdown, recruiting highlights, and performance data.

Both purchases were recommended for approval by Schneider.
